Working with Adults

Deciding to seek help can be difficult for many individuals as the misperception and stigma remains that psychotherapy is for “crazy” people. Through the therapeutic relationship, I aim to offer an objective, safe space where individuals can come to better understand themselves and the difficulties they are facing. My role is to assist the client make healthier life choices and positive changes to reduce stress and find solutions to challenges.

Working with Teenagers

I consult with teenagers aged 14 years and up. Teens with problems may find it difficult to resolve these issues by themselves. In addition, many teens are sceptical about sharing their deepest feelings with an adult they don’t know or trust. They may feel that the counsellor is their enemy, a representative of an adult world that has already let them down.

One-on-one individual therapy gives distressed teenagers the opportunity to speak openly about their experiences in a non-judgmental, confidential and safe setting. Within the therapeutic relationship, the young person learns to trust and expresses fears, worries and hopes for the future.
